Factory 993 Steering Rack Brace
In Feb 1996 Porsche released a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) approving the retrofit of 18″ wheels on certain 993 models:
1. All 1996 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 Coupes2. 1995 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 Coupes after VIN 99 7 SS 323614
For the 1995 models mentioned above, the requirement for this upgrade was to install a “steering rack reinforcement brace” since the larger diameter wheels would put more pressure on the steering rack.
Note: Also use 2x Allen Bolt 999-218-103-0J – For Right-Hand Drive models only. For Left-Hand Drive version use part number 993-347-131-03.
